Where the Heck do I belong?- Christa Black

when you live abroad on a fairly loose, fairly uncertain timeline, factors of life can feel out of your control… in what i think is a very healthy way. and then it also can feel downright anxious. i give myself 1 day every couple weeks where i just allow myself to freak out a little bit. like should we switch the children’s school? which doctor appointments should we do here and which should we save for the states? how long should i make commitments for?! should we make life easier with a car? how long? when? what? huh… insurance? private, public…stuff…houses….

i love and i hate the uncertainty that comes with not knowing where we live in a year. the loose hands can be so freeing and so hard to have all at the same time. i came across this article and it struck an extra sensitive chord. i think she puts it brilliantly, figuring out *where* do i belong. she speaks truth to all- whether you are in transition or quite comfortable in your physical place.

I would be lying if this question wasn’t a bit annoying.   Where do we belong?  Where do we plant roots?  Where are our ‘people?’

Okay, okay—you got me.  It’s not a bit annoying.  It’s REALLY annoying.  Especially since we have SO MANY people who we adore—places we can plant roots—-cities and churches and movements that we can TOTALLY make work.  But Jesus isn’t being clear, and here we are in my least favorite place in the world…

In the waiting room.

At this very moment, my bearded hubs is driving a Penske truck across the country with all of our belongings….the same belongings that have been in storage for over a year.  That’s right, I said it—for 13 months, I’ve lived out of 3 suitcases and 2 cars.  It’s amazing how little you realize you actually need when you can survive/be fine with what you own inside of 3 suitcases.

I have been browsing online more than 2 hours today, yet I never found any interesting
article like yours. It's pretty worth enough for me.

In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as
you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
